Non-perturbative string connections
Andrea Gregori

TL;DR
This paper explores the duality between different string theory compactifications, providing insights into their non-perturbative properties and connections among various four-dimensional N=2 vacua.
Contribution
It introduces a duality framework linking type I, heterotic, and type II string models, revealing non-perturbative aspects of four-dimensional N=2 theories.
Findings
Identifies dualities between type I, heterotic, and type II string models.
Analyzes gravitational corrections to understand non-perturbative effects.
Establishes connections among various N=2 M-theory vacua.
Abstract
We discuss the duality between two type I compactifications to four dimensions and an heterotic construction with spontaneous breaking of the N=4 supersymmetry to N=2. This duality allows us to gain insight into the non-perturbative properties of these models. Through the analysis of the gravitational corrections, we then investigate the connections between four-dimensional, N=2 M-theory vacua constructed as orbifolds of type II, heterotic, and type I strings.
