DeSitter entropy, quantum entanglement and ADS/CFT
Stephen Hawking, Juan Maldacena, Andrew Strominger

TL;DR
This paper explores the connection between deSitter entropy, quantum entanglement, and the AdS/CFT correspondence, providing a microscopic derivation of entropy via conformal field theory in a dual framework.
Contribution
It introduces a variant of AdS/CFT that describes deSitter cosmology and derives deSitter entropy as quantum entanglement in the dual conformal field theory.
Findings
DeSitter entropy matches the area law of the observer horizon.
Quantum entanglement in the dual CFT accounts for the entropy.
The derivation is explicit in two-dimensional deSitter space.
Abstract
A deSitter brane-world bounding regions of anti-deSitter space has a macroscopic entropy given by one-quarter the area of the observer horizon. A proposed variant of the AdS/CFT correspondence gives a dual description of this cosmology as conformal field theory coupled to gravity in deSitter space. In the case of two-dimensional deSitter space this provides a microscopic derivation of the entropy, including the one-quarter, as quantum entanglement of the conformal field theory across the horizon.
