TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that in a simplified Yang-Mills model, negative norm ghost states can be BRST invariant and generated solely from gluon states, highlighting issues in gauge theories.
Contribution
It reveals that negative norm ghost states can be BRST invariant and produced from gluons in a simplified model, advancing understanding of ghost states in gauge theories.
Findings
Negative norm states can be BRST invariant.
Ghost states can be created from gluons.
Simplified Yang-Mills model illustrates ghost state properties.
Abstract
Negative norm Hilbert space state vectors can be BRST invariant, we show in a simplified Y-M model, which has gluons and ghost fields only, that such states can be created by starting with gluons only.
