Abdel P\'erez-Lorenzana, William A. Ponce

TL;DR
This paper explores the potential links between string theories and Grand Unified Theories, emphasizing the role of non canonical affine levels in constructing consistent string-GUT models to address existing challenges.
Contribution
It proposes that non canonical affine levels are essential for building consistent string-GUT models and provides a list of common level values associated with realistic GUTs.
Findings
Non canonical affine levels may be necessary for consistent string-GUT constructions.
A list of common affine level values related to realistic GUTs is provided.
The paper offers insights into solving four-dimensional string-GUT problems.
Abstract
We look for a connection between string theories and Grand Unified Theories (GUTs), with the aim to look for new insights in the existing four dimensional string-GUT problems. We argue that the construction of consistent string-GUT models could require the use of non canonical affine levels. We list the most common level values related to realistic GUTs.
