Andrzej Czarnecki, Kirill Melnikov, and Alexander Yelkhovsky

TL;DR
This paper details the calculation of alpha^2 quantum electrodynamics corrections to parapositronium decay, showing small effects that align with recent experimental measurements and discussing implications for orthopositronium decay.
Contribution
It provides a detailed calculation of alpha^2 corrections to parapositronium decay, enhancing theoretical precision and understanding of positronium decay processes.
Findings
Alpha^2 corrections are small but significant for precision.
The calculated lifetime agrees with recent measurements.
Implications for orthopositronium decays are discussed.
Abstract
We present details of our recent calculation of alpha^2 corrections to the parapositronium decay into two photons. These corrections are rather small and our final result for the parapositronium lifetime agrees well with the most recent measurement. Implications for orthopositronium decays are briefly discussed.
