Review of different approaches to understanding the phenomenon of diffraction
A. Hebecker

TL;DR
This paper reviews various theoretical approaches to understanding diffraction phenomena, focusing on the diffractive structure function F_2^D, and also discusses diffractive vector meson production and hadron-hadron collision processes.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of different theoretical models related to diffraction, emphasizing the structure function F_2^D and related phenomena.
Findings
Different theoretical models of diffraction are compared.
Insights into the structure function F_2^D are summarized.
Discussion of diffractive vector meson production and hadron-hadron diffraction processes.
Abstract
This brief review of hard diffraction is focussed on the theory of the diffractive structure function F_2^D. Some aspects of diffractive vector meson production and of diffractive processes in hadron-hadron collisions are also discussed.
