David Dooling, Carlo Giunti, Kyungsik Kang, Chung W. Kim

TL;DR
This paper develops a formalism to describe neutrino oscillations in matter within two four-neutrino mixing schemes consistent with current experimental data.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive formalism for matter effects in four-neutrino mixing, applicable to solar, atmospheric, and long-baseline neutrino oscillations.
Findings
Formalism applicable to current neutrino oscillation schemes
Enables analysis of matter effects in four-neutrino models
Supports interpretation of experimental neutrino data
Abstract
We present a formalism for the description of oscillations in matter of solar, atmospheric and long-baseline neutrinos in the two schemes of four-neutrino mixing that are allowed by the results of all existing neutrino oscillation experiments.
