TL;DR
This paper employs the meson cloud model to analyze the asymmetry in light quark distributions within the proton sea, improving agreement with experimental data on the ratio of anti-down to anti-up quarks.
Contribution
It introduces a modified approach to the symmetric perturbative sea, enhancing the accuracy of light quark distribution predictions in the proton.
Findings
Better agreement with experimental data on $ar{d}(x)/ar{u}(x)$ ratio
Modified symmetric perturbative sea improves model accuracy
Quantitative predictions of $ar{d}(x) - ar{u}(x)$ distribution
Abstract
We use the meson cloud model to calculate and in the proton. We show that a modification of the symmetric, perturbative part of the light quark sea provides better agreement with the ratio $ \bar{d}(x)/\bar{u}(x).
