D. Ashery, H.J. Lipkin

TL;DR
This paper calculates the polarization of Lambda particles in deep inelastic polarized lepton scattering using two models, providing insights into hyperon spin structure and polarization transfer mechanisms.
Contribution
It introduces a comparative analysis of Lambda polarization using the naive quark model and an SU(3)$_F$ symmetry-based model in deep inelastic scattering.
Findings
Lambda polarization predictions vary between models.
Direct and decay-produced Lambda polarizations are analyzed.
Results inform hyperon spin structure understanding.
Abstract
We calculate the polarization of Lambda and Anti-Lambda particles produced in deep inelastic polarized lepton scattering. We use two models: the naive quark model and a model in which SU(3) symmetry is used to deduce the spin structure of SU(3) octet hyperons from that of the proton. We perform the calculations for Lambda and Anti-Lambda produced directly or as decay products of and .
