TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel quark mass matrix model using four scalar doublets and a specific symmetry group, predicting certain CKM matrix elements and avoiding flavor-changing neutral currents in the down sector.
Contribution
It proposes a new quark mass matrix model with a unique scalar and symmetry setup, differing from previous models and providing specific predictions.
Findings
Predicts |Vts| ≈ ms/mb and |Vub/Vcb| > 0.085
No flavor-changing neutral Yukawa interactions in down-type quarks
Uses four scalar doublets with S3 x Z3 symmetry
Abstract
I present a new model for the quark mass matrices, which uses four scalar doublets together with a horizontal symmetry S3 x Z3. The model is inspired on a suggestion made a few years ago by Ma, but it is different. The predictions |Vts| \approx ms/mb and |Vub/Vcb| > 0.085 are obtained. Flavour-changing neutral Yukawa interactions do not exist in the down-type-quark sector.
