Identification of Colour Reconnection using Factorial Correlator
Fu Jinghua, Liu Lianshou

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel factorial correlator-based signal to detect colour reconnection in W+ W- hadronic decays, demonstrating higher sensitivity than traditional averaged quantity methods using Pythia simulations.
Contribution
The paper presents a new factorial correlator method for identifying colour reconnection, improving detection sensitivity over existing approaches.
Findings
The factorial correlator signal is more sensitive than averaged quantity methods.
Simulations with Pythia confirm the effectiveness of the new signal.
The proposed method enhances detection capabilities for colour reconnection.
Abstract
A new signal is proposed for the colour reconnection in the hadronic decay of W+ W- in e+e- collisions. Using Pythia Monte Carlo it is shown that this signal, being based on the factorial correlator, is more sensitive than the ones using only averaged quantities.
