Remarks on the neutrino oscillation formula
Massimo Blasone, Giuseppe Vitiello

TL;DR
This paper confirms that a recently derived quantum field theory neutrino oscillation formula remains valid despite arbitrary mass parameters, revealing new features beyond the traditional Pontecorvo formula, especially outside the relativistic limit.
Contribution
It demonstrates the robustness of the quantum field theory neutrino oscillation formula against mass parameter arbitrariness and highlights its differences from the Pontecorvo formula.
Findings
The formula is exact and valid despite arbitrary mass parameters.
It exhibits new features compared to the Pontecorvo formula.
The formula reduces to the Pontecorvo formula in the relativistic limit.
Abstract
We show that the neutrino oscillation formula recently derived in the quantum field theory framework holds true despite the arbitrariness in the mass parameter for the flavor fields. This formula is exact and exhibits new features with respect to the usual Pontecorvo formula, which is however valid in the relativistic limit.
