Omega_{ccc} production via fragmentation at LHC
V.A.Saleev

TL;DR
This paper calculates the production rate of the Omega_{ccc} baryon via fragmentation at LHC using perturbative QCD and a quark-diquark model, predicting thousands of events annually.
Contribution
It introduces a new fragmentation function for c-quark to Omega_{ccc} baryon within a leading order QCD framework and nonrelativistic quark-diquark model.
Findings
Approximately 3,500 Omega_{ccc} events expected per year at LHC for p_t>5 GeV/c
Provides a theoretical prediction for Omega_{ccc} production rates
Uses a novel combination of perturbative QCD and quark-diquark modeling.
Abstract
In the framework of the leading order of perturbative QCD and the nonrelativistic quark-diquark model of baryons we have obtained fragmentation function for c-quark to split into Omega_{ccc} baryon. It is shown that at LHC one can expect 3.5 10^3 events with Omega_{ccc} at p_t>5 GeV/c and -1<y<1 per year.
