R.N.Faustov, A.P.Martynenko

TL;DR
This paper calculates the hadronic vacuum polarization's effect on the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen using recent experimental data, finding it contributes approximately 10.77 microelectronvolts to the energy difference.
Contribution
It provides a precise evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen based on modern experimental cross-section data.
Findings
Hadronic vacuum polarization contributes 10.77 μeV to the Lamb shift.
The calculation incorporates recent $e^+e^-$ annihilation data.
Results improve understanding of proton structure effects in muonic hydrogen.
Abstract
The contribution of hadronic vacuum polarization to the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen is evaluated with the account of modern experimental data on the cross section of annihilation into hadrons. The numerical value of this contribution to the (2P-2S) shift in muonic hydrogen is equal to 10.77 .
