On Large-Angle Bhabha Scattering at LEP
G. Montagna, O. Nicrosini, F. Piccinini

TL;DR
This paper evaluates the theoretical precision of the TOPAZ0 program for large-angle Bhabha scattering at LEP, quantifying errors in cross section calculations crucial for LEP1 physics analyses.
Contribution
It provides an estimation of the physical errors in the Bhabha cross section calculations, including forward and backward components, for various energies and event selections.
Findings
Quantified the theoretical error of TOPAZ0 in Bhabha scattering cross sections.
Analyzed errors for both s and non-s contributions at different LEP energies.
Assessed the impact on LEP1 physics measurements.
Abstract
The theoretical accuracy of the program TOPAZ0 in the large-angle Bhabha channel is estimated. The physical error associated with the full Bhabha cross section and its forward and backward components separately is given for some event selections and several energy points of interest for LEP1 physics, both for the and non- contributions to the cross section.
