Upsilon Dissociation in Quark-Gluon Plasma
Sidi Cherkawi Benzahra

TL;DR
This paper investigates the dissociation mechanisms of upsilon mesons in quark-gluon plasma, focusing on thermal gluon absorption and screening effects, to understand their behavior in high-energy nuclear collisions.
Contribution
It provides a comparative analysis of upsilon dissociation via gluon absorption and screening effects in quark-gluon plasma.
Findings
Dissociation rate depends on energy density, number density, and temperature.
Gluon absorption significantly contributes to upsilon dissociation.
Screening effects also play a role in meson dissociation.
Abstract
I consider the dissociation of the upsilon meson due to absorption of a thermal gluon. I discuss the dissociation rate in terms of the energy density, the number density, and the temperature of the quark-gluon plasma. I compare this to the effect due to screening.
