TL;DR
This paper investigates how skewed parton distributions influence real and virtual Compton scattering, providing a detailed phenomenological analysis of the handbag contribution at moderate momentum transfer.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed phenomenological framework for analyzing the handbag contribution to Compton scattering using skewed parton distributions.
Findings
Identification of form factors as 1/x-moments of skewed distributions
Analysis of polarized and unpolarized scattering data
Insights into the role of skewed distributions in Compton processes
Abstract
The handbag contribution to Compton scattering at moderately large momentum transfer factorises into parton-photon subprocess amplitudes and new form factors representing 1/x-moments of skewed parton distributions. A detailed phenomenological study for polarised and unpolarised real and virtual Compton scattering is presented
