TL;DR
This paper examines the hypothesis of a real CKM matrix and finds it inconsistent with current experimental measurements, challenging previous claims that supported a real matrix.
Contribution
It provides an updated analysis showing that a real CKM matrix is disfavored by recent data, contradicting earlier reports suggesting otherwise.
Findings
Real CKM matrix is inconsistent with current measurements
Contradicts previous claims supporting a real CKM matrix
Supports the standard complex CKM matrix paradigm
Abstract
The hypothesis of a real Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix has been considered and found to be disfavoured by present measurements even when neglecting results from CP violation in neutral Kaon decay. This result contradicts statements reported in hep-ph/9810333.
