TL;DR
This paper presents a general angular distribution analysis method for extracting CKM phases, B_s mixing parameters, and CP-violation effects from non-leptonic B meson decays, improving parameter determination efficiency.
Contribution
It introduces a versatile moment analysis technique using weighting functions to extract fundamental parameters from angular distributions in B meson decays, applicable to various decay modes.
Findings
Method allows extraction of mma_H, mma_L, elta m from angular data.
Enables determination of CP-odd and CP-even amplitude phases.
Applicable to all angular distributions for CKM and factorization tests.
Abstract
Suggestions for efficiently determining the lifetimes and mass difference of the light and heavy mesons () from decays are given. Using appropriate weighting functions for the angular distributions of the decay products (moment analysis), one can extract . Such a moment analysis allows the determination of the relative magnitudes and phases of the CP-odd and CP-even decay amplitudes. Efficient determinations of CP-violating effects occuring in are discussed in the light of a possible width difference , and the utility of this method for decays is noted. Since our approach is very general, it can in principle be applied to all kinds of angular distributions and allows the…
