Some Recent Developments in Sphalerons
Bing-Lin Young

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent developments in sphaleron physics, emphasizing their properties, energy calculations, and implications for baryon number violation in models extending the Standard Model.
Contribution
It provides a summary of sphaleron properties, explores models with extended scalar sectors, and presents new work on beyond Standard Model physics focusing on sphaleron energy.
Findings
Sphaleron energy varies in extended scalar models
Properties of sphalerons are summarized and compared
Implications for baryon number violation are discussed
Abstract
We review briefly the sphaleron and list some of its properties. We summarize some of the results in models which have an extended scalar sector. We also present our work on models dealing with physics beyond the standard model. We focus on the energy of the sphaleron which is important in determining the rate of baryon number violation at the electroweak scale.
