TL;DR
This paper explores methods to determine the unintegrated gluon Parton Density Function using HERA data, achieving reasonable fits but revealing discrepancies between different gluon density determinations.
Contribution
It presents the first attempts to extract unintegrated gluon PDFs from structure function data, highlighting the challenges and differences in the results.
Findings
Reasonable fits to $F_2$ and $F_2^c$ data achieved
Gluon densities obtained differ significantly
Highlights need for improved extraction methods
Abstract
First attempts are described to determine the unintegrated Parton Density Function of the gluon from a fit to measurements of the structure function and also measured at HERA. Reasonable descriptions of both structure functions are obtained, but the gluon densities determined are different.
