TL;DR
This paper reviews the charming penguin approach for B -> K pi decays, updates data fits, and discusses limitations in extracting the gamma parameter from these fits.
Contribution
It provides an updated fit to B -> K pi data within the charming penguin framework and analyzes the challenges in using these fits to determine gamma.
Findings
Updated fit to experimental data
Challenges in extracting gamma from fits
Insights into the charming penguin approach
Abstract
We briefly recall the main formulae for computing the B -> K pi branching ratios within the "charming penguin" approach, present an updated fit to the data, and explain why we believe that, in general, these fits can hardly be used to extract gamma.
