Instantons in Deep-Inelastic Scattering
A. Ringwald (DESY), F. Schrempp (DESY)

TL;DR
This paper discusses the theoretical uncertainties in predicting instanton-induced events in deep-inelastic scattering, motivated by recent experimental searches at HERA.
Contribution
It provides an analysis of the controllable theoretical uncertainties affecting instanton event predictions in deep-inelastic scattering.
Findings
Identification of key uncertainties in instanton event topology
Assessment of uncertainties in calculated event rates
Implications for experimental searches at HERA
Abstract
In view of the new (preliminary) search results for instanton-induced events at HERA from the H1 collaboration, we present a brief discussion of (controllable) theoretical uncertainties, both in the event topology and the calculated rate.
