## TL;DR

This paper measures the topological susceptibility in SU(3) Yang-Mills theory across the deconfinement transition, revealing a significant decrease in topological fluctuations during the phase change.

## Contribution

It introduces an improved operator for measuring topological charge density and provides the first detailed measurement of susceptibility across the phase transition.

## Key findings

- Topological susceptibility drops by an order of magnitude at deconfinement
- Improved operator enhances measurement accuracy
- Results clarify topological role in phase transition

## Abstract

We present a measurement of the topological susceptibility in SU(3) Yang-Mills theory through the deconfinement phase transition. An improved operator is used for the topological charge density. A drop by an order of magnitude is observed from the confined to the deconfined phase.
