Gauge invariant investigation of the nature of Confinement
A. Gonzalez-Arroyo, A. Montero

TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between action density peaks, monopole currents, and confinement in SU(2) Yang-Mills theory, revealing correlations that shed light on the confinement mechanism.
Contribution
It provides a gauge-invariant analysis of the connection between action density peaks, monopoles, and confinement, offering new insights into the confinement mechanism in Yang-Mills theory.
Findings
Decrease in action density peaks correlates with string tension reduction
Distribution of peaks relates to confinement properties
Monopole currents are linked to action density features
Abstract
We observe a strong correlation between the decrease in the number of action density peaks in SU(2) Yang-Mills configurations with cooling and that of the string tension. The nature and distribution of these peaks is investigated. The relationship with monopole currents after the abelian projection is also considered.
