TL;DR
This paper investigates the spectrum of SU(2) gauge theory on a three-sphere, focusing on boundary conditions and theta-dependence, using a variational approach with a specially constructed basis.
Contribution
It introduces a basis of functions respecting boundary conditions and theta-dependence for analyzing low-energy modes in SU(2) gauge theory on S^3.
Findings
Constructed a boundary-respecting basis for low-energy modes
Applied variational approximation to spectrum analysis
Explored theta-dependence effects on the spectrum
Abstract
For SU(2) gauge theory on the three-sphere we implement the influence of the boundary of the fundamental domain, and in particular the -dependence, on a subspace of low-energy modes of the gauge field. We construct a basis of functions that respect these boundary conditions and use these in a variational approximation of the spectrum of the lowest order effective hamiltonian.
