Regge's space-time skeletons and the quantization of 2d gravity
Wolfgang Bock

TL;DR
This paper investigates Regge's regularization method for 2D quantum gravity and finds it does not match continuum model results for string susceptibilities, highlighting limitations of the approach.
Contribution
The study applies Regge's method to 2D gravity with specific topologies and demonstrates its failure to reproduce continuum string susceptibility values.
Findings
Regge's method does not match continuum string susceptibilities
Failure observed for genus zero and two topologies
Highlights limitations of Regge regularization in 2D gravity
Abstract
Regge's method for regularizing euclidean quantum gravity is applied to two dimensional gravity. Using topologies with genus zero and two and a scale invariant measure, we show that the Regge method fails to reproduce the values of the string susceptibilities of the continuum model.
