Efficient Hadronic Operators in Lattice Gauge Theory
P. Lacock (UKQCD Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper introduces non-local gauge invariant operators in lattice gauge theory to better isolate the ground state of hadrons, demonstrated by analyzing the wave function of excited states.
Contribution
It proposes a novel class of non-local operators that improve the extraction of hadronic ground states in lattice simulations.
Findings
Operators effectively isolate ground states
Wave functions show expected nodal structures
Enhanced accuracy in hadron spectroscopy
Abstract
We propose the study of non-local gauge invariant operators to obtain an uncontaminated ground state for hadrons. The efficiency of the operators is shown by looking at the wave function of the first excited state, which has a node as a function of spatial extent of the operator.
