Vortex Loops In The 3-d XY Model
Arjan Hulsebos

TL;DR
This paper investigates vortex loops in the 3D XY model, revealing that the phase transition is driven by the condensation of short loops into percolating loops, providing insights into topological defect behavior.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed analysis of vortex loop behavior and their role in phase transitions within the 3D XY model, highlighting the condensation mechanism.
Findings
Phase transition driven by vortex loop condensation
Short loops evolve into percolating loops at criticality
Provides a topological perspective on phase transition mechanisms
Abstract
We study the properties of vortex loops in the 3-d XY model. We find that the phase transition in this model is driven by the condensation of short loops into percolating loops. Paper comes as a uuencoded compressed tar-file, containing the complete PostScript file. Total file approx. 220 Kb.
