The Isgur-Wise Function: A Lattice Determination from Pseudoscalar --> Pseudoscalar Form Factors
UKQCD Collaboration, James N. Simone

TL;DR
This paper uses lattice QCD to compute form factors for heavy-light meson decays, extracting the Isgur-Wise function and validating it against experimental data, advancing understanding of heavy quark symmetry.
Contribution
It provides a lattice QCD determination of the Isgur-Wise function from pseudoscalar decays, aligning theoretical calculations with experimental results.
Findings
Good agreement with CLEO measurements for B --> D* decays
Lattice results support heavy quark symmetry predictions
Form factors consistent with theoretical models
Abstract
Form factors for pseudoscalar --> pseudoscalar decays of heavy-light mesons are found in quenched lattice QCD with heavy-quark masses in the range of approximately 1-2 GeV. The Isgur-Wise function, , is extracted from these form factors. Results are in good agreement with derived from CLEO measurements for B --> D*.
