TL;DR
This study investigates the behavior of charmonium spectral functions in two-flavor QCD at high temperatures, revealing that J/psi and eta_c states persist into the deconfined phase before melting, with current uncertainties limiting definitive conclusions.
Contribution
First spectral function results for charmonium in 2-flavor QCD at high temperature using dynamical anisotropic lattice simulations.
Findings
J/psi and eta_c survive into the deconfined phase
Spectral functions indicate melting occurs near 2 times the critical temperature
Systematic uncertainties currently limit definitive conclusions
Abstract
We report first results for spectral functions of charmonium in 2-flavour QCD. The spectral functions are determined from vector and pseudoscalar correlators on a dynamical, anisotropic lattice. J/psi and eta_c are found to survive well into the deconfined phase before melting away at T<~2T_c. Current systematic uncertainties prevent us from drawing any definite conclusions at this stage.
