K.Goeke, J.Ossmann, P.Schweitzer (Bochum U.), A.Silva (Coimbra U.)

TL;DR
This paper investigates how the nucleon mass varies with pion mass using the chiral quark-soliton model, showing good agreement with lattice QCD data and discussing its use for chiral extrapolation.
Contribution
It demonstrates the applicability of the chiral quark-soliton model to predict nucleon mass dependence on pion mass and compares results with lattice simulations.
Findings
Model results agree well with recent lattice data.
The model can serve as a guideline for chiral extrapolation.
Limitations of the model are discussed.
Abstract
The dependence of the nucleon mass on the mass of the pion is studied in the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. A remarkable agreement is observed with lattice data from recent full dynamical simulations. The possibility and limitations to use the model results as a guideline for the chiral extrapolation of lattice data are discussed.
