Improving meson two-point functions by low-mode averaging
T. DeGrand, S. Schaefer

TL;DR
This paper introduces a low-mode averaging technique to enhance the signal quality of meson two-point functions by leveraging the contribution of low lying eigenmodes of the Dirac operator, tested through numerical experiments.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel application of low-mode averaging to improve meson correlation functions, demonstrating its effectiveness in lattice QCD calculations.
Findings
Significant signal improvement in meson two-point functions.
Effective reduction of statistical noise in correlation measurements.
Validation of low-mode averaging as a practical method for lattice QCD.
Abstract
Some meson correlation functions have a large contribution from the low lying eigenmodes of the Dirac operator. The contribution of these eigenmodes can be averaged over all positions of the source. This can improve the signal in these channels significantly. We test the method for meson two-point functions.
