TL;DR
This paper compares various improved staggered quark actions, analyzing how improvements affect taste symmetry breaking and topological properties in lattice QCD simulations.
Contribution
It provides a comparative study of improved actions, focusing on taste symmetry breaking and topological effects, which advances understanding of lattice discretization effects.
Findings
Improved actions reduce taste symmetry breaking in the pion spectrum.
Certain improvements enhance the topological properties of the lattice.
Quantitative analysis of pion spectrum splitting demonstrates effectiveness of improvements.
Abstract
We compare several improved actions for staggered quarks. We study the effect of improvement on the taste changing interactions by calculating the splitting in the pion spectrum. We investigate the effect of the improvement on some topological properties.
