Dimensional reduction in QCD: Lessons from lower dimensions
P. Bialas, A. Morel, B. Petersson

TL;DR
This paper investigates dimensional reduction in SU(3) gauge theory in 2+1 dimensions, reviewing previous findings, introducing a new Z(3)-symmetric reduced model, and analyzing its numerical simulation results.
Contribution
It introduces a novel reduced model with Z(3) symmetry for SU(3) gauge theory in lower dimensions and compares it with earlier models.
Findings
The new Z(3)-symmetric model captures key features of the original theory.
Numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of the reduced model.
Comparison with previous models highlights improvements in symmetry and accuracy.
Abstract
In this contribution we present the results of a series of investigations of dimensional reduction, applied to SU(3) gauge theory in 2 + 1 dimensions. We review earlier results, present a new reduced model with Z(3) symmetry, and discuss the results of numerical simulations of this model.
