TL;DR
This paper computes the pion's electromagnetic form factor using improved lattice QCD techniques, comparing different current choices and analyzing the pion's internal structure through the Bethe-Salpeter wave function.
Contribution
It introduces a non-perturbatively improved lattice approach to calculate the pion form factor and examines the effects of different current choices on the results.
Findings
The form factor results depend on the choice of current used.
Comparison with other methods shows improved accuracy.
Insights into the pion's internal structure from the Bethe-Salpeter wave function.
Abstract
We calculate the electromagnetic form factor of the pion in lattice gauge theory. The non-perturbatively improved Sheikoleslami-Wohlert lattice action is used together with the O(a) improved current. The form factor is compared to results for other choices for the current and features of the structure of the pion deduced from the 'Bethe-Salpeter wave function' are discussed.
