TL;DR
This paper reports on calculating the combined mass of light and strange quarks using improved staggered quarks with 2+1 dynamical flavors, highlighting the impact of dynamical quarks on the results.
Contribution
First calculation of light and strange quark masses using improved staggered quarks with dynamical flavors.
Findings
Dynamical quark effects are clearly visible.
Results provide insights into quark mass sum.
Method improves accuracy of quark mass determination.
Abstract
We present results on the sum of the masses of light and strange quark using improved staggered quarks. Our calculation uses 2+1 flavours of dynamical quarks. The effects of the dynamical quarks are clearly visible.
