Light quark masses in quenched QCD with exact chiral symmetry
Ting-Wai Chiu, Tung-Han Hsieh

TL;DR
This paper determines light quark masses using quenched lattice QCD with exact chiral symmetry, employing overlap Dirac operators and chiral perturbation theory, resulting in precise mass estimates consistent with experimental inputs.
Contribution
It provides a novel determination of light quark masses in quenched QCD using overlap fermions and one-loop chiral perturbation theory, improving accuracy over previous methods.
Findings
Light quark masses: $m_{u,d} = 5.3 \, ext{MeV}$, $m_s = 115 \, ext{MeV}$
Results are in the $ar{MS}$ scheme at 2 GeV
Method achieves consistent quark mass estimates with experimental inputs
Abstract
The parameters in the pseudoscalar meson mass formula in quenched chiral perturbation theory to one-loop order are determined by quenched lattice QCD with overlap Dirac operator, and from which the light quark masses are determined with the experimental inputs of pion and kaon masses, and the pion decay constant. Our results are MeV, and MeV, in the scheme at scale GeV.
