Stefan Kurth

TL;DR
This paper calculates the one-loop perturbative corrections to the quark mass in the Schrödinger functional with a background field, identifying the critical mass and lattice artifacts relevant for lattice QCD simulations.
Contribution
It provides the first one-loop computation of the current quark mass and critical mass in the Schrödinger functional with a background field, including lattice artifacts.
Findings
Critical mass where the renormalized quark mass vanishes identified
Lattice artifacts at one-loop order quantified
Perturbative corrections to quark mass computed
Abstract
We compute the current quark mass in the Schrodinger functional with a non-vanishing background field at one loop order of perturbation theory. The results are used to obtain the critical mass at which the renormalized quark mass vanishes, and some lattice artefacts at one loop order.
