Philippe de Forcrand (1), Lorenz von Smekal (2) ((1) ETH Zurich and, CERN, (2) University Erlangen-Nuremberg)

TL;DR
This paper investigates ratios of partition functions in SU(2) gauge theory to identify reliable order parameters for the deconfinement transition, focusing on sectors with fixed center flux and static charges.
Contribution
It introduces and compares two types of partition function ratios as consistent order parameters for the confinement-deconfinement transition in SU(2).
Findings
Both sector ratios serve as valid order parameters.
The study clarifies the role of center flux and static charges.
Results support their use in analyzing confinement.
Abstract
We study ratios of partition functions in two types of sectors of SU(2), with fixed temporal center flux and with static fundamental charge. Both can be used as bona fide order parameters for the deconfinement transition.
