W. Detmold, W. Melnitchouk, A.W. Thomas

TL;DR
This paper presents a method to determine the x-dependent nonsinglet u-d distribution in the nucleon from lattice QCD moments, incorporating chiral and heavy quark limits, with implications for meson mass dependence on quark mass.
Contribution
It introduces an extrapolation formula that accurately connects lattice QCD moments to the x-dependent distribution, respecting physical limits.
Findings
Successful extraction of u-d distribution from lattice moments
Extrapolation formula respects chiral and heavy quark limits
Implications for meson mass dependence on quark mass
Abstract
We extract the x dependence of the nonsinglet u-d distribution function in the nucleon from the lowest few moments calculated on the lattice, using an extrapolation formula which ensures the correct behavior in the chiral and heavy quark limits. We discuss the implications for the quark mass dependence of meson masses lying on the J(PC)=1(--) Regge trajectory.
