TL;DR
This paper investigates the interaction between static center monopoles in 4d SU(2) Yang-Mills theory, revealing a dual order parameter role for the 't Hooft loop and critical behavior akin to the 3d Ising model during deconfinement.
Contribution
It introduces a new numerical method to analyze the 't Hooft loop as a dual order parameter and characterizes its critical behavior in the deconfinement transition.
Findings
't Hooft loop acts as a dual order parameter to the Wilson loop.
The dual string tension exhibits 3d Ising-like critical behavior.
The study provides insights into monopole interactions and phase transition dynamics.
Abstract
We study the potential between a static center monopole and antimonopole in 4d SU(2) Yang-Mills theory. Using a new numerical method, we show that the 't Hooft loop is a dual order parameter with respect to the Wilson loop, for the deconfinement phase transition. We observe a 3d Ising-like critical behaviour for the dual string tension related to the spatial 't Hooft loop as a function of the temperature.
