TL;DR
This paper investigates the behavior of topological susceptibility in full QCD with multiple flavors at various temperatures, revealing a sharp decline at the deconfinement transition but inconclusive results on chiral behavior at zero temperature.
Contribution
It provides new lattice QCD data on topological susceptibility across temperature transitions and explores its dependence on quark mass.
Findings
Topological susceptibility drops sharply at the deconfinement transition.
No conclusive evidence for expected chiral behavior at zero temperature.
Study includes 2 and 4 flavor QCD with staggered fermions.
Abstract
We present a study of the topological susceptibility on the lattice for full QCD with 2 and 4 flavours of staggered fermions at zero and finite temperature T. We find that presents a sharp drop across the deconfinement transition. We also study the dependence of on the quark mass at T=0: we have no conclusive evidence for the expected chiral behaviour.
