Search for Charmless Hadronic Decays of B Mesons with the SLD Detector
SLD Collaboration

TL;DR
This study used the SLD detector to analyze about 500,000 Z0 decays, setting new limits on rare charmless B meson decays with high precision due to advanced tracking capabilities.
Contribution
It provides the most precise limits to date on 24 charmless B meson decay modes, improving understanding of rare decay processes.
Findings
Set limits on 24 B meson decay modes
Achieved most precise limits for 10 decay modes
Demonstrated effective background reduction techniques
Abstract
Based on a sample of approximately 500,000 hadronic Z0 decays accumulated between 1993 and 1998, the SLD experiment has set limits on 24 fully charged two-body and quasi two-body exclusive charmless hadronic decays of B+, B0, and B0_s mesons. The precise tracking capabilities of the SLD detector provided for the efficient reduction of combinatoric backgrounds, yielding the most precise available limits for ten of these modes.
