J. Z. Bai, et al (BES Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of the total cross section for hadronic production in electron-positron annihilation at energies between 2.6 and 5 GeV, providing valuable data for understanding particle interactions.
Contribution
The study provides new experimental measurements of the cross section ratios at multiple energies using the upgraded BESII detector, filling gaps in existing data.
Findings
Measured R values at specified energies.
Enhanced precision in cross section data.
Contributed to the understanding of hadronic production.
Abstract
Using the upgraded Beijing Spectrometer (BESII), we have measured the total cross section for annihilation into hadronic final states at center-of-mass energies of 2.6, 3.2, 3.4, 3.55, 4.6 and 5.0 GeV. Values of , , are determined.
