Evidence of New States Decaying into $\Xi_{c}^{*}\pi$
J. P. Alexander, et al. (CLEO Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the discovery of two new charmed baryons decaying into $\Xi_c^{*}\pi$ states, with measured mass differences, interpreted as $J^P=3/2^-$ $\Xi_{c1}$ particles, expanding understanding of charmed-strange baryon states.
Contribution
First evidence of new $\Xi_{c1}$ states decaying into $\Xi_c^{*}\pi$, with measured mass differences and quantum number assignments, advancing knowledge of charmed baryon spectroscopy.
Findings
Measured mass differences of approximately 348 MeV and 347 MeV.
Identified the states as $J^P=3/2^-$ $\Xi_{c1}$ particles.
Provided evidence for new charmed baryon states.
Abstract
Using data recorded by the CLEO II detector at CESR, we report evidence for two new charmed baryons, one decaying into via an intermediate , and its isospin partner decaying into via an intermediate . We measure the mass differences of the two states to be MeV, and MeV. We interpret these new states as the particles, the charmed-strange analogues of the .
