Charm Photoproduction in ep Collisions at HERA
Yehuda Eisenberg

TL;DR
This paper presents measurements of D* meson photoproduction in ep collisions at HERA, comparing experimental results with NLO pQCD calculations, revealing discrepancies in certain regions and evaluating a recent theoretical model.
Contribution
The study provides new differential cross section measurements for D* mesons in low W photoproduction, and assesses the accuracy of recent NLO pQCD models against experimental data.
Findings
Differential cross sections are higher than NLO predictions in certain kinematic regions.
The BKL pQCD model describes the data reasonably well.
Discrepancies are observed especially in the forward (proton) direction.
Abstract
We report the latest results of the ZEUS collaboration on the photoproduction of D* mesons in a low W range. Differential cross sections as function of pt(D*) and eta(D*) are measured and compared with several recent NLO pQCD calculations. The differential cross-sections in a restricted kinematical region are higher than the NLO calculations, in particular in the forward (proton) direction. A recent pQCD model (BKL) describes the data reasonably well.
