Dispersion relation analysis of the neutral kaon regeneration amplitude in carbon
CPLEAR Collaboration, M.P. Locher, V.E. Markushin

TL;DR
This paper uses dispersion relations and experimental data to accurately analyze the neutral kaon regeneration amplitude in carbon, resolving a long-standing discrepancy in previous evaluations.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive dispersion relation analysis incorporating all available data, notably clarifying the subthreshold contribution to the regeneration amplitude.
Findings
Subthreshold contribution is much smaller than previously estimated.
Resolved a long-standing puzzle in kaon regeneration analysis.
Enhanced understanding of kaon-carbon scattering processes.
Abstract
We apply a forward dispersion relation to the regeneration amplitude for kaon scattering on 12C using all available data. The CPLEAR data at low energies allow the determination of the net contribution from the subthreshold region which turns out to be much smaller than earlier evaluations, solving a long standing puzzle.
