TL;DR
This paper investigates how particle pair correlations depend on event multiplicity in antiproton-proton collisions at high energy, focusing on like-sign and opposite-sign pairs to understand string production effects.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed analysis of multiplicity dependence of charge correlations in $ar{p}p$ reactions at 630 GeV, addressing Bose-Einstein correlation behavior with multiple string production.
Findings
Correlation functions vary with multiplicity
Like-sign and opposite-sign correlations show different patterns
Results inform models of string fragmentation and particle production
Abstract
Discussions about Bose-Einstein correlations between decay products of coproduced W-bosons again raise the question about the behaviour of correlations if several strings are produced. This is studied by the multiplicity dependence of correlation functions of particle pairs with like-sign and opposite-sign charge in reactions at GeV.
