Charge Determination of High Energy Electrons and Nuclei by Synchrotron Radiation with AMS
H. Hofer, M. Pohl

TL;DR
This paper explores how synchrotron radiation can be used to determine the charge of extremely high-energy electrons and nuclei in Earth's magnetic field, proposing detection methods for such particles.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to identify the charge of TeV electrons and PeV nuclei via their synchrotron radiation, expanding detection capabilities for high-energy cosmic particles.
Findings
Synchrotron radiation characteristics for TeV electrons and PeV nuclei are evaluated.
Detection methods for high-energy particle charge identification are discussed.
Potential for using Earth's magnetic field as a natural detector is analyzed.
Abstract
We investigate the possibilities to identify the charge of TeV electrons and PeV nuclei using their synchrotron radiation in the earth's magnetic field. Characteristics of synchrotron radiation photons are evaluated and methods of detection are discussed.
